Getting Started

The Catholic academies and schools of Brooklyn and Queens welcome children of all ages, religions and cultural backgrounds. Our elementary student community is 25% non-Catholic and 65% of non-European descent.

Pre-K For All

Many of the Catholic academies and schools in Brooklyn and Queens offer free, all-day Pre-K for All. This New York State early childhood initiative is for children who are 4 years of age or will be by December 31.

Elementary

Our kindergarten to fifth grade programs help ensure your child gets off to a great educational start in life. Children must be 5 years of age before December 31 to register. Transfers are always welcome.

Middle School & Transfer Students

The middle school years are a crucial bridge from elementary to high school. Our academies and schools prepare our students for success, as evidenced by the selective high schools our 8th graders are accepted to and the many scholarships they win.

High School

Each high school makes its own admissions and scholarship decisions. Please view our High School Guide (PDF) for information on the Catholic high schools in Brooklyn and Queens.

Eighth grade students who are interested in attending a Catholic high school must take the Test for Admission into Catholic High Schools (TACHS). Registration for the test begins in August, and the test is administered in November. Learn more and register at tachsinfo.com.
